Jarrod McAlister - Poi’s rugby journey has taken him from backyard games in New Zealand to the professional stage in Europe. With years of experience at the highest level, Jarrod understands both the physical demands and the mental resilience required to succeed.
Now based in Perth, he’s focused on giving back, helping the next generation of players unlock their potential. His coaching style is built on discipline, game awareness, and a strong emphasis on personal growth.

Career Timeline

Selected for Auckland U18 Reps at just 16. Also represented New Zealand U17s and Blues U18s.

At 18, debuted for North Harbour ITM Cup. Offered and signed a two-year contract in France with Tarbes Pyrénées Rugby.

First full professional contract with Stade Toulousain. Played 64 professional games by age 23.

Winner of the French Top 14 Championship with Toulouse.

Signed a three-year contract with Béziers Hérault. Named Player of the Year (2022).

Played in Pro D2 with SC Albi (Albi Rugby). Relocated to Perth and joined Nedlands Rugby Club.
